Intentions

Intentions are powerful whether you realize it or not. Setting a heartfelt intention creates a channel in which the energy of the Universe can support us.  Many people have stories of how they asked and gently focused their energy towards a certain event/outcome/experience/etc and by handing it over to the Universe, so to speak, their desires were fulfilled, sometimes in a little different way than expected but fulfilled all the same.

Intentions are not goals or mandates on the way things "should" be but a way of opening space inside and around us for our desires to be expressed and offered to the greater whole so that they can be fostered and cultivated into what our Soul's journey needs.  Those things we want or intend upon that do not come to pass are usually things that are not in the best interest of our development. In those cases, if our desires our built upon an honest desire for growth then we usually find ourselves modifying those intentions or letting them go, seeing how they were not in service to our greater growth and good.  In some ways when we set an intention on the altar of our hearts, it's always the same intention, the intention and invitation that we be guided on the path that will remind us of our deepest truth and joy.  No matter what the outer garb of the intention, the inner nature of it is always the same, a prayer for direction and assistance and faith in that process of self-discovery.

Freedom: Inside & Out

  According to Webster’s dictionary, freedom is defined as “the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action : liberation from slavery or restraint.”  Knowing this, can you recall a time where you actually experienced freedom?  A moment where you were totally without a nagging thought, an influencing memory, or a demanding superior telling you what you should or shouldn’t be doing.  I imagine that few of us have ever experienced TRUE freedom because even if others are not directly guiding us, then we are being bombarded by memories, old mental tapes, advertisements, and other things that work to overpower our instinct.  To live in this world, this culture, means to experience some level of constant coercion, direct or indirect, blatant or subliminal.  Are we ever truly free to be?
